At the conclusion of training camp, I think the 49er QBs will look like follows:

Trey Lance - QB 1
Brock Purdy - QB 2
Jimmy Garoppolo - starter for a second-division team. We can't afford him.
Josh Johnson - QB 4 on 90 man roster. Will never see the field again...

QB3 in the draft, or UDFA

There are tons of Free Agent QBs better than Josh Johnson who can be had for $2M or less to participate in OTAs and be a veteran backup. Might as well draft a QB with one of the many 2023 picks they will have.

Pretty doubtful the Niners can once again strike gold (pun intended) with a later round QB, but maybe they have a knack for finding them like they do getting QBs injured ;)

There's a bunch of ex-SF free agent quarterbacks.  I think Jeff Driskel, Nate Sudfeld, Blaine Gabbert, Nick Mullens and C. J. Beathard can all be had for $3 mms. or less... ;)

No on all of the above.  Flacco.  Bridgewater.  Heck I’d even see if Fitzpatrick would come out of retirement.  I prefer a long time veteran that can step in and play at a moderate level, but certainly isn’t anybody who is going to be challenging for any sort of a long-term job. The list you mention to me doesn’t fit the moderate level test. with the possible exception, given all the 49ers weapons of Blaine Gabbert. Pending a physical, Bridgewater would be my choice

Given their lack of success, I thought it was obvious that I was being sarcastic... Sometimes sarcasm doesn't translate.

Bridgewater has the highest rating and QBR of those listed. Mullens is also pretty good, Beathard is third best.  None of them remotely approaching Garoppolo or Purdy for rating or QBR. And FWLIW, Trey Lance's career rating and QBR isn't quite as good as Teddy Bridgewater's last season. Lance actually did better in 2021 than in 2022.
