Niners top FA priorities, IMO:

1. McGlinchey - if a bidding war doesn't develop for him
2. Jake Brendel - most underrated Niners player, IMO
3. Jimmie Ward - the guy is just nails and can play Safety and Nickel (though he wants to play Safety)

Spotrac projects Emmanuel Moseley's market value at $16M/yr. Deommodore Lenoir has been getting better and better and has no history of missing games due to injury. I'd let Moseley walk and sign Jimmie Ward because he's more versatile and a great leader.

As for paying QBs, I would just not do it unless I have a transcendent talent at the position, which by definition is very rare. When you consider 3/4 teams in the conference championship games were playing QBs on rookie deals, and that Patrick Mahomes who is an otherworldly and talent with a $40M cap hit was the other, it makes zero sense to pay a QB top dollar and expect them to carry a depleted roster. Look no further than the Buffalo Bills GM explaining the Bills losing to the Bengals because they have Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase on rookie deals, than to see how NFL teams are starting to understand the significant value of QBs on rookie deals.

I feel exceptionally confident saying Jalen Hurts is not going to lead the Eagles to Super Bowls after he is being paid $40M+ per year and he loses his star-studded Offensive Line.  He's a very capable QB, but he's not going to carry a team by himself, IMO. 

NFL teams have to sacrifice too much supporting talent to field championship teams when they decide to pay QBs so much. Only a very select few QBs can carry a less talented roster to a championship. Dan Prescott will have the #2 cap hit in the NFL in 2023. Anyone think Dallas will be going further next year, when they can't afford as much surrounding talent as they could in 2022?

I'm waiting for the first NFL team to decide they will only pay QBs on rookie deals, and have the balls to trade them before they hit free agency if they have put up big numbers to impress the league. Such teams would invest in the offensive and defensive lines, DBs, and WRs, instead of QBs. This is effectively what the Eagles have done with Jalen Hurts. They won't be able to do this if they pay him $40M-$50M per year.

Niners probably won’t sign McGlinchey. Jimmie Ward is as good as gone. As for rookie contract QBs  pretty sure league figured out the value.  Trick is making the right choice.

Purdy’s surgery delayed due to swelling.  Not good news.

Though the report claimed the delay wouldn't impact his return. Yeah, right.

Good news is Lance will be ready for OTAs. He has work to do.  But he has the greater upside. By far.
