I am going to risk the wrath but given those comments if we might be best off playing Nivar a lot in the first half and saving Jump until we tire their guards a bit?

It’s not the worst idea—Nivar played quite well yesterday—but Tara would never go for it. She loves having Jump in the game as much as possible.

In the presser, Tara took the blame for some of Jump's off nights, "I probably played her too much, she needed some rest to keep her legs strong for shooting" or words to that effect.  I think we will see Jump on the bench for at least a few minutes.

Rivals reporter posted a few minutes ago that Brink practiced today and should be good to go tomorrow.  Great news.

Good news indeed, but let's also remember Washington.  She had some sort of cold and was feeling a little off, and she played, but was not her usual self, and we know the results.  Hopefully this time she will be 100%, but she can't be expected to go as many minutes after being sick.  Everyone else needs to be ready in case she has an off night.

You absolutely HAVE to watch our student athletes speaking about Tara, but wait until you here Emma-Nnopu discussing "the nice girls from Stanford."  My confidence in this team just went up after hearing her rejoinder!

Tara seemed almost dour, deadly serious.  "Didn't sleep last night.   They are a very experienced group, didn't see a freshman on their roster.  They took Gonzaga apart last night.  We are going to have to play very well."

She noted Brink practiced very well today.  A reporter asked about whether she would be limited in minutes, and she said not only Brink but "everyone is day to day."  

"Rebounding is key.  We can't be the nice girls from Stanford."

"Coaching is not giving candy to players, it's making corrections, and helping them reach their potential."

Tara was asked to reflect on her first NCAA tournament game with Stanford--an overtime win in Montana, in which Jennifer Azzi was a sophomore and Jos Tinkle's mother played for Montana.
