One comment I really liked, almost a throwaway, came from Fran when asked about her major and dealing with finals coming up. She said in commenting on balancing time and the demands of being student-athletes, "We're students first." Wow! Can't imagine that comment coming from players at many other schools.

That sentiment is not universally viewed as a positive on this board.

If so, the others have a different pov. For  than I do. One of the reasons I can be a fan of Stanford WBB. Is that the players are students who take their education seriously. I see sports as an addition to education in the classroom, not the other way around. If/when that changes at Stanford, I'm gone
