Get real. He was behind MOC this year and Carlyle is coming in. He knows that his only role at Stanford would be second or third string. He can only start if he transfers to a team where there is a weakness at PG.

I don't think folks here are defending Haase so much as questioning a bad argument.
Something close to 1/3 of all Division I mens basketball players entered the transfer portal last year.* One bench player doing so on one particular team by itself doesn't say much about the coach.
On the other hand, zero NCAA tournament berths and one conference winning record in 7 years says plenty. I see no reason to try to make up stuff beyond that.
* The numbers I found on a quick search were 1649 entries to the transfer portal for Division 1 mens basketball and separately that there were 5522 scholarship athletes. That ratio is 30%.
