Is he better than Bryce, who seemed to be a pretty hyped recruit (for his speed) but hasn't done much for Stanford of note?

This is a fascinating commitment, because it is the brother of a current player who has seen nothing but program deterioration since he signed. One wonders if Shaw was still the HC if Chase Farrell would have committed to Stanford? And if not, what is Troy Taylor bringing to the table that has resonated?  

Or is this a case of just liking Stanford and wanted to go where bro went, and would have committed to Stanford even with Shaw as HC?

If it is the former, you'd think more players would be buying what Taylor is selling.  Speaking of this, do any of you know what Stanford's recruiting pitch is like with Taylor and how it might be different than Shaw and co's?

Chase really likes the school and the academics, but he goes over the top about the new coaching staff and what Bryce thinks of them. I also noted his PR of 10.51 in the 100 meters, which he has run more than once.  (For reference, his brother's best time in HS was 10.87, and Bryce Love ran 10.61 in his senior year of HS.)

“There were a lot of reasons why I committed to Stanford,” Farrell said. “The biggest reasons were the new coaching staff and the academics.

“When it comes to just school, taking football out of the equation, there’s nothing better than Stanford. The school really speaks for itself.”

The Cardinal hired Troy Taylor to take over the program back in December and Farrell said he’s excited about the new direction. 

“The new staff is putting together something new and electric,” Farrell said. “The way things are flowing there and how the program is being run is very impressive. Everything is fast and explosive. It just fits me.

“Bryce loves it there. He told me the staff, from top to bottom, has been amazing. He thinks that I will excel in this new offense they’re bringing and based off what I’ve seen on visits, I think so too.”
