Slater (hamstring) and Haniger (oblique) to open season on the IL.
Sabol is on track to extend the string of non-consecutive LFers on opening day for SF. If he is penciled in the starting lineup at that position, it will extend the string to 17 different guys since Bonds.
Meanwhile, Crawford will likely extend his streak to 12 consecutive starts at SS.
Three players (Szapucki, Gonzalez and Jackson) will probably be placed on the 60 day IL, opening slots for Perez and Johnson.
DeSclafina will open on the active roster.
Basically how I thought things would shake out. Only question is 13 or 12 pitchers. I think 12. Opening another spot for either Wisely or Piscotty.

In two starts, DeSclafani has pitched 5 2/3 and given up two hits and one walk. His WHIP is 0.53. I hope he starts on the active roster...
And the pokey-slow Giants, as a team, lead MLB in steals with 38 in spring training. Their OF, Bryce Johnson, leads the majors with 12 steals, hasn't been caught yet. In his cup of coffee with the Giants last year, he went 2 for 18 with 7 strikeouts. He has 8 strikeouts in 34 ABs in the spring, with a .353/.410/.471/.881 split.
Baggs or Brisbee surmised he might start on IL cause they won’t need a 5th starter until game 9 - 11 days in.
