I just read that they gave the NCAA WBB Tournament MVP to Reese.  WTF?  Clark broke all records in this tourney and was the high scorer in the finals.  Wow!

Clark would have been a lock if Iowa had won...in 42 years of women's Division I Most Outstanding Players, exactly 1 (Dawn Staley, 32 years ago) did not come from the championship team.  For better or worse "Most Outstanding Player" is almost synonymous with "Best player on the championship team"

I guess martyup wouldn't have given the award to Haley Jones in 2021 either:

Haley Jones: 85 total tournament points (17 points in championship game)
Aari McDonald: 149 total tournament points (22 points in championship game)

By the way, does anyone know if Clark set the record for turnovers? Hard to imagine any other team making the championship game when their PG commits 35 turnovers in a single tournament.
