Today's game will change those averages substantially, 16-3 Giants in the bottom of the 9th with the Giants getting 20 hits, 16 runs, and 5 home runs for the day. We're still in the small sample size part of the season.
It's a laugher so Beaty, a position player, is now pitching and throwing softball pitches to the plate. Funny to watch 55 mph pitches cross the plate but I get the logic. Chicago's score may climb to the average with major league hitters swinging at batting cage floaters. Barring a disaster the Giants will win today, win this road series and earn a .500 road-trip.
They probably aren't a "great" team but I don't see a disastrous season building.
In 1938 Neville Chamberlain declared "Peace in our time", Superman first appeared in Action Comics, Seabiscuit beat War Admiral ....... and C.a.l last won the Rose Bowl.
