I've read many comments on other message boards that Betts being the #1 ranked player out of high school makes a mockery of the rankings.  I think the rankings metric is potential over a four year college career and in that case you have to wait until after the senior year to evaluate the accuracy of these rankings.

From what I've seen of Betts (admittedly not that much) my impression is that she is a decent player. Worthy of a #1 recruit in the nation? Doubtful.
As far as waiting four years, did we have to wait four years to see that Paige Bueckers, Caitlin Clark, and our own Cameron Brink were great players?

A 6-7 post in HS is most likely going to have her way under the basket on both O and D.  Not so easy at the next level.  Better, bigger, quicker players and better defensive coaching schemes too.

And our posts were hampered all year playing 4 on 4, with Jump pinned in the corner and no other consistent outside threat to take the pressure of them.

Betts was running the court better by the end of the season, but unfortunately we won't reap any benefits from that.
