Since advanced analytics are unavailable for the minor leagues, we are left with the traditional numbers.  And those are certainly better than nothing because they give us a some clues For example, if Bailey can hit .280 this year at Richmond, I think it would put him back on the MLB-bound train.

All AAA parks and some A/AA parks have the necessary tracking equipment installed this year, and you can access all the data on Baseball Savant. It is somewhat cumbersome because you need to search game-by-game but it's there. For example, here is the data for last night's Sacramento Cats game, which was started by our own Tristan Beck:

Not to belabor the Bailey argument, but he's never not been on the MLB-bound train since he was drafted, not even close.

My eyes glaze over and I start having panic attacks thinking I’m about to take a math test if I look at “advanced analytics”.  Give me scouts that can employ the Potter Stewart test… “ I know it when I see it.”
