I wonder if playing time refers to expected playing time for last year and this upcoming year: perhaps expectation was Brink slides to 4 so Betts at 5 but Brink wasn’t hitting mid range and 3 point shots so that did not work out — which shut down the deal.

Seems a reach to think she wouldn't play next year. This playing time stuff...no one knows the main reasons that went into the decision except Lauren and her immediate family. What gets told to (or fabricated by) social media tweets and reporters, or even to friends, is untrustworthy information. Just as I don't trust the social media post from the mom about "representation matters". Which was it? It's lots of stuff, but not just playing time. The Betts family isn't blind. They know how stacked up everything was last year, and how thin Stanford is at the post going forward. It doesn't take a genius to figure out she'd be playing a ton next season, and she'd be the lead dog the years after that plus she'd end up with a Stanford degree. So...transfer becauses of LAST YEAR'S PLAYING TIME even though it's already behind her? I don't buy it. Plus, as others have pointed out she's now transferred into a school with MORE competition at the post. Doesn't make much sense. Still think there's way more to this story. Will be fascinating to see what develops for her and other big name transfers over the years.
