I don't think they are looking at this correctly.
Stanford pushed 5 out of 6 five-stars (83%) to the NFL. Wow 83 percent!
Alabama on the other hand "only" sent 68 percent of their five-stars to the NFL. But they sent 30 five-stars to the NFL and they had 44 5-stars during the same period. Thirty is significantly more than 5 over any time frame. It is the raw number that is far more important than percentage.
Let's aim for sending 1 out of 1? 100 percent!
No, the outliers are Bama, UGA, Ohio State, FSU, etc. by the sheer numbers of high-level college and NFL talent they have.
