Seems like a good idea to shave some time of games, so I'm not P.O'd when some rando game is midway through the fourth quarter when my game is supposed to be on. Although how much time can you really save? Stoppage was just a few seconds and I assume they won't change the restart of the play clock. Anyway, the clock will still stop after a first down in the last two minutes of each half, so teams without timeouts can still use the middle of the field on game tying/winning drives.
