Maybe, but not generally on the President. Do any of us really know exactly what the President of the University is supposed to do? I have been around for quite a few of them, and their actions, "results", and influences have been almost uniformly different. My experience has been that some Presidents were in general well liked and well respected and others were not, usually for reasons that few could articulate. It was a "feeling". MTL has never provided that "feeling" that he was any good. To me, that is probably his greatest sin, and that is more likely to get him forced out than anything else, IMO. I have seen Presidents do what I thought were silly things. I have seen Presidents do basically nothing, ever. They served until either they didn't want to any more or the BOT got tired of them. One could ask for "accountability", but accountability for exactly what?
