Marco Luciano made his Richmond debut last night…and went 0-4 with 4 Ks. He did also draw one BB, and of course also committed an error that lost the game for the Squirrels.

Looks like Patrick Bailey was promoted to Sacramento.

Wish they’d move Luciano off short. Not a great position for a guy with back problems.  Meanwhile, Fitzgerald to Sacto.  Playing SS.  Schmitt playing 2b. Giant committed to turning him into a utility infielder.

Didn't Schmitt win a MiLB Gold Glove playing 3B? I know it sounds crazy, but why not groom him to be the every day 3B?

Both Schmitt and Bailey won MiLB Gold Gloves, all the more impressive because only one Gold Glove per position was awarded for all of the minor leagues in toto. It wasn't a league-by-league award. Congrats to Farhan for his selections.

And speaking of Giant catchers, the other Giants catcher -- you know, the one starting for the big club -- may have been the answer all along, at least according to SJ Mercury News reporter Evan Webeck:

His hitting has improved to .302, his strikeout rate has declined to just a little above league average, Cobb is praising him, Kapler says he has improved in every facet of his game. He ranks 11th in controlling opponents' running game this year, compared to 45th last year. His framing ranks in the 98th percentile.
