Reason for optimism : the aforementioned acquisitions should start to pick it up - at least Conforto (who is showing signs) Haniger and Taylor. Not so sure with Manaea who is coming off a bad year and who has no real role as Kapler is Kapler.
Manaea is doing so badly, he just gave up a single to Carlos Correa (hitting .210). Still, he did pitch 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball, thanks to Stanford's Tristan Beck, who got the third out with one pitch and two in scoring position
Conforto just hit his ninth home run of the season. He's leading the Giants, and is second on the G's with 22 RBIs.
