[Giants]

What a win in LA Friday night!  Those two teams sure do play some crazy games. Giants are now somehow just 1.5 GB of the Dodgers and the #1 WC spot. But, the fact is the Phillies and Reds are also 8-2 in their last 10 as the Giants, and right on their heels.

I saw the 11th live on mlb.tv last night. Just wild. Great for Crawford to get that hit. And Slater, wow.

But wow, when is the last time a team made 2 errors on the same play with a man on 2nd and somehow still prevented a run?

Folks have been hating on Junis lately but he looked ok until he threw that ball into RF.

Talk has (rightly) been about the yutes.  But the key, imo,  to their 30–19 record over the past 49 has been the bullpen.  Which has been fantastic. Junis has been pretty darn good for the most part. He’s had a few rough outings. But I believe he has pitched more innings in relief than anybody on the staff. Perhaps more than anybody in baseball

How much has baseball changed?  The Rays have used 30 pitchers.  (Not including a couple position players in blowouts).

Relief innings pitched…

1.Tyler Wells, BAL, 81.2 innings 
16. Sean Manea, SF, 49.1 innings
32. Jakob Junis, SF, 39.1 innings

Wells is a starting pitcher. He’s relieved once.  Manaea started 6 games. 22 innings.  Junis has only relieved.
