Oregon and Washington will prop up the PAC and deal with the instability until the B1G is in the mood to add teams because a.) defecting to the Big 12 doesn’t get them the prize and b.) they perceive that playing in a small conference will be an advantage when it comes to the expanded playoff. And c) they have no other choice. One wonders what kind of a TV deal the PAC-? can get, if any. How long can Washington and Oregon run their programs without the TV revenue they are accustomed to? Why would the B1G dilute their TV deal? Going forward, it is probable that TV revenue will be harder to get, not easier. Why would the B1G want to get bigger unless they got paid to do so? Unclear how that would happen.
