Ramos was too much to give or the Mets weren't interested. We'll never know, but the Giants certainly did inquire about him and Mark Canha for sure if they are getting 53 OPS+ AJ Pollock. Nothing makes more sense than adding a guy to a terrible offense who sucks himself. David Villar's OPS+ is 50 for comparison.
This Giants team gets there in a different way, but it's striking how similar it has become to the Sabean "torture" teams in terms of run scoring. Zaidi and Sabean have completely different team building and player deployment philosophies, but the results are eerily similar. Good pitching, almost no speed, athleticism, or power, and find a way to eke out 3-2 or 4-3 wins. Pretty much lose any game you give up 4 or more. Maybe Pollock will be this year's Cody Ross...
Luciano didn't even play in an 11 inning game last night. WTF? They'd rather play some clown named Isan Diaz, whose career BA is .180 over 3 seasons and give him 4 plate appearances?!?!?
Tommy Pham???
The guy that slapped Pederson?
That was NEVER going to happen. The Giants players made it clear that he was not welcome in the Giants clubhouse.
