Surely Oregon and Washington must give some consideration to the fact that it would be easier for them to make a football playoff out of a weakened P8 or P10 than an 18 team Big 10.

Their exit means playoffs are going to have to change anyway. They can't justify a berth unless PacX conference adds ND, BYU, Memphis, TCU, and SMU.

The PacX if it exists at all would become a Gang of 5 (soon to be 6) conference. A team would have to finish in the top 4 or top 12 of the CFP rankings to qualify. A conference championship would not be enough.
