To be clear, I was not cherry-picking periods of suckage. I picked periods immediately following periods of suckage. Those are the periods most relevant to where we are now and are the most neutral, non-cherry-picked periods you can get. Sometimes Stanford has made great hires in those circumstances, sometimes ok hires, and sometimes terrible hires. That’s the point. Those periods tell a thoughtful person (agreed with you that powers that be these days may not be that) what a reasonable expectation for Stanford football would be.
