Oregon State opens at San Jose State today.

To my utter shock, this game is on CBS, and will be seen be the whole country on over the air TV. Has a SJSU home game ever been on over the air TV?

The last time SJSU had a regular season home game televised nationally anywhere was in 2005 on ABC against Nevada.
...
Jack Elway was the head coach of the Spartans the last time they were seen on CBS during the regular season — a 35-31 win over Stanford and Elway’s son, Cardinal quarterback John Elway.

The 35-31 loss was in 1982 and it was a strange year. The week after that loss we went back to Columbus and beat Ohio State. A few games later we upset Washington when I think they were ranked #1 in the nation. Then we lose the last three games to go 5-6.
