I didn't recognize those announcers.  I've noticed some of the best PAC-12 VB announcers in the past are now working for other networks/conferences.

I'm the jinx for WVB so far this year: the two games I've attended were the two losses.

It seems Stanford WVB plays its best on the road in front of large, hostile crowds.   This season the best examples are Texas (large student body attendance, pretty hostile) and Louisville.  The two losses were at Maples.  I don't think you are a jinx; it's other factors.

Stanford has a long term agreement with Nebraska for non-conference games.  My preference would be to play all those matches at Nebraska before sellout crowds.  It gets the team pumped up and the freshmen get to see what college volleyball atmosphere is like compared to playing at club tournaments in front of a dozen relatives and friends.

There are three strong teams in the PAC-12 and the rest of the teams are unproven.  Cal was unbeaten in non-conference but played a weak schedule.  I looked at the non-conference schedule of Stanford's next opponent, Colorado.  They are currently 8-3 but also played a relatively weak non-conference schedule.

When the NCAA RPI first comes out Stanford will probably be at its high-water mark for the season.  Then it will be a gradual move downward due to the majority of teams in the PAC-12 not being that strong this year.
