 Announcers were very knowledgeable but never forgot their primary job is to describe the action, which usually involves specific players. 

Paul Sunderland calls the NCAA championship semis and finals, he's called the Olympics and I would guess he's the top college announcer. The other one (Holly McPeak?) was fine but too many times her analysis basically consisted of "they need to try harder."
