Posey moved back to the Bay Area and wants to be more involved.  He’s not going to be involved in day to day decisions.  But I’m hopeful he will have a big voice in the post season discussion on what changes - process, personnel and perhaps coaches need to be made.  His perspective is undoubtedly different from Zaidi and Kapler.  And he certainly has credibility.

Speaking of Webb.  He’s not going to win the CY.  Blake Snell probably is.  Ponder this:  Snell faced 11 batters past the 6th inning all year.  Webb went at least 7 16 times.

I think I hope Posey has a lot more say. Don't know him nor his philosophy on Baseball. Seems like an old school guy, and he certainly handled the staff really well over a lot of years and lot of different pitchers. So hope it is.

Regarding pitching. Wow, 11 batters past the sixth. Embarrassing, but it is the new reality of baseball. Don't let pitches go through the line up a third time. . . .Krukow had an interesting point the other morning. In the old days, the third time through was when pitchers learned to pitch. Your stuff isn't as good, so you'd have to beat them with guile and placement.

That and pitch counts.  Snell throws a lot of pitches. Webb has thrown about 40 more innings and something like 25 more pitches for the season.

I wonder what Nolan Ryan’s pitch count average  was back when he struck out something like 380 and walked about 220.  It had to be around 150. But he was a unicorn.
