And while US did get silver, this is the first time they had used college players.  It is a senior team tournament, and the past gold medal teams contained predominantly pro players.  So, while they got silver, Betts was pretty phenomenal playing against the senior players of other countries.

I don't know about other years, but there weren't any pro players on the USA Americup roster 2 years ago either: 2021 Americup Rosters. Granted, that 2021 team was a pretty incredible college roster. 

And I was very sad to see Betts go. She has incredible upside and I think she would have done great things in Tara's program. I'm just cautious about reading too much into this summer's Americup stats.
