By the way, Dodgers fans are bringing out the long knives. One of their primary complaints is about the inability of the their farm system to produce position players for the big club. Only two home grown position players (Outman and Smith) were on their post season roster. Bellinger and Seager were let go and, other than at the catching position, there is little in the pipeline.
The post season collapses are obviously having an effect - only one WS (in a truncated season) during the Friedman era. And speaking of Friedman, there are a number of complaints about his control of Roberts (sound familiar?).
In today’s game, you only need to win enough to get to the post season. After that, it is anyone’s guess who can win it all. I’ll try to remember that next year after the Braves and Dodgers post 100+ win regular seasons and the Phillies and Giants squeak into the playoffs.

If I were a Dodger fan I’d be critical of their inability to pick up a decent starting pitcher at the deadline. Lance Lynn doesn’t count.
But if you think about it, it’s remarkable they won 100. If they were mapping their ‘23 rotation a couple years ago, it was - Buehler, Bauer, Urias, Kershaw, May.
They had Kershaw for about 2/3 of year, ditto Urias, none of the other 3. Add Gonsolin being hurt. And Trienen. They also let Trea Turner Justin Turner and Bellinger go. (And Seager the year before) And had Lux go down for the season.
Course Betts, Freeman, Smith, Martinez (how did they get him for $ 10 Mill. Giants paid twice that for half the production) and Muncy make up for a lot of things. Yes, you do need “stars”.
