I'll never understand the letting Dubon go. Not only did he show well in the infield for the  Astros, he plugged in fairly often in the outfield, and he was a Giant lifer. A clown car of try outers followed.

It was the right move.  He had not done anything to demonstrate he would be a viable option for SF.  Much like Connor Joe, he needed a fresh start elsewhere to find his place in the game.  

Every team makes moves that don’t age well.  Just ask Dodger fans about Yordan Alvarez.  It is part of the game.  I don’t recall any posters here criticizing the move at the time it was made.
