Interesting. Larry Scott's "meddling sidekick" Woodie Dixon has (apparently repeatedly) intervened in the replay process. Dixon is accomplished...Harvard JD, and he was an associate at Sidley for three years. He's the general counsel of Chegg and was the GC/SVP of BA for the Pac-12. Most GCs that I know are extremely cautious people. I'm surprised he called into the replay command center...he's not a trained official. Maybe he's just a USC fan.

Here's the play in question. Not only is it a helmet-to-helmet hit, it is a blindside targeting, helmet to helmet hit...one week after the player was called for a similar targeting hit.
