I do come back to the underlying principle, though. What is the reason for prohibiting entry after the third quarter? Keep in mind, this isn't just re-entry. It's any entry at all. So for all those interested students monitoring the game on KZSU and then wanting to come cheer on the team in the fourth quarter of a close game--sorry, no dice. You cannot come in, even with a valid ticket. What purpose does this serve?
I could imagine not wanting to staff all the gates, because it costs money to pay the gate personnel. That's fine...just keep one gate open. And I can imagine not wanting to let in people who are drunk or belligerent. Fine, have a cop at the one open gate who can turn those people away. But it seems odd to have a blanket policy that nobody can get in after the third quarter.
Anyhow, I was going to write a note to the athletic department but thought I would check here first in case anybody knew the reasoning behind the policy.
Thanks!
Just a WAG but barring a breathalyzer test, I think it's easier for the gatekeepers to have a blanket policy than one that requires some subjective judgment, ie who's drunk/belligerent and who's not. There might be some legal ramifications as well.
