I didn't have as big a problem with the app as you did, but I did run into some problems.
It's very nonobvious how to navigate to where you can see your tickets. The obvious places to go for tickets are only to buy more tickets, not to view what you already have. You have to click on your name near the upper right and select "tickets" from *that* menu. (If your name isn't there, you have to log in.)
Also there is a bug where sometimes you get stuck on a screen where the app's back button doesn't work, there is no menu in the app to go elsewhere, and the Android back button exits the app. You have to kill the app and restart it to go anywhere else. I reported this bug months ago, and got a prompt reply saying they knew and would fix it. But it's not fixed yet.
I think the Stanford ticket people are trying their best, but the company that makes the app is not doing so great.
