Getting Bynum was a great find. Gealer was a star in a very, very small school in SoCal.  I am sure the size of his school and size of his league made his 3 star rating actually a great achievement.  He was actually way better than anyone thought.  So far we have shown what low turnover, high assist point guard play can do for a team.  I think Haase has been looking for PG's like this ever since he got to Stanford, guys who put the team first and play that way.  Guys know if they can get open they will get the ball, and we don't see those dribble drives into oblivion that were so much the part of past years. The 3 star PG commitment for next year seems like the same kind of player.  Nice thing is that they can also shoot so they are not one trick ponies. How often are we going to get a PG who is a great distributor, a great shooter and a great defender?  Not very often in my opinion.  So if you get two of those three attributes, which two do you pick?  We have had a number of guys who had only one of those three markers.

Bynum is 24 years old. He basically the same age as Ja Morant and Luka Doncic. He's played years more basketball than Gealer and even more still than any incoming frosh. Yes, Bynum has good skills that fit well with Stanford (so far). But he also gives Haase what he has never had - a VERY experienced PG. No substitute for that experience.
