ESPN could have televised the game. Instead, they took Cal vs. UCLA.
Fox could have televised the game. Instead, they took WSU vs. Washington.
Stanford is not a draw, but apparently neither are the Irish.
ESPN is showing Cal at UCLA but they are putting it in the 7:30pm window, which would be even more
unacceptable for Notre Dame (and whatever Stanford fans show up).
You may have a point. I looked at start times for Stanford vs. ND in odd years (i.e., at Stanford the Saturday after Thanksgiving) going back to 2009. The game never started after 5 pm. That may be a result of Notre Dame influence or it may be that ABC/ESPN and Fox want to broadcast an Irish game that the East Coasters can watch in prime time. But Notre Dame's appeal seems to have waned since both ABC/ESPN and Fox passed on carrying the game this year.
Also, my understanding was that the Pac12 Network did not always choose last. It is possible they picked second or third this week.
It looks like the Arizona and Utah games that week have not yet been picked up.
