KNBR has broadcast rights for the Giants, the 49ers and partial rights for the Warriors. Apparently KNBR has been losing ground to 95.7 (who broadcasts the Warriors as well).

Guys that “whined” loudest were Webb (who definitely throws strikes) and Yaz (best OF on team.  Although admittedly that’s  a low bar.)

It was Ross Stripling who complained first and loudest. His ERA was 20th best on the team last year (5.36 ERA, 0-5 record) and he gave up 20 HRs in 89 innings pitched, and he was paid $10 mms., sixth highest on the team. Couldn't deliver, steak eater. And he's coming back, currently with the third highest payroll on the team.

The "best OF on the team", who played 2/3rds of the time in 2023 and is ranked 22nd among MLB right fielders by mlb.com, has dropped pretty significantly from his .852 and .968 OPS years. He was a big part of the swoon in July when his OPS was .569 and he was injured virtually all of August. He's a poor CF and an average corner OF at best. And he can't hit lefties (.204) or on the road (.193). And -- per my comment -- he couldn't hit .250. Yaz hit .233, under the league average. At least Slater hit .270.

Yes, Mick.  Yaz was the best OF on team in ‘23.   As I said, low bar.    Hopefully they rectify that this offseason. BTW- batting average is largely irrelevant as a measure stick these days.  So many metrics.  So little time. 

Stripling had no problem throwing strikes.  They just got  hit hard.

Best OF on the team...a team whose OF WAR ranked 26th out of 30 MLB teams. Umm...yeah. That's the guy who I want to hear complaining. As for batting average being irrelevant...it's literally the first stat you see on ESPN's MLB statistics page. Doesn't sound irrelevant to me.

As for batting average, I’m still a fan, Mick. But I’m in the minority. It’s been placed way down the list in regards to analyzing players. There’s really no question about that. Whether or not that should be the case is certainly arguable.

I'm okay with anyone complaining at any time, even - especially - Mrs. Mick. And Logan Webb (11-13 and former PED abuser) as staff leader can certainly complain all he wants. I'm less interested in what Stripling and Yaz have to say. Webb had the best ERA and WHIP of the starters, 2nd in Cy Young...great, have at it. And it says something about Webb complaining about being "tired of losing" and "we've got to make big changes" after a complete game win.

It's super easy to call out the manager, when the manager isn't the guy who signed up all the terrible players. The fact that Yaz is -- by your statement -- the "best outfielder on the team" is a major part of the problem. He should be the fifth best OF on the team. I'd respect him more if his OPS was .975 instead of .775.
