Finally, the league decides to get serious about stopping Green's thuggish on-court behavior. Maybe this will get his attention, but maybe not. He may be too headstrong to change his conduct. Yes, as Kerr said, the Warriors need Draymond, but no, they don't need the repeated blows to their team reputation and to team chemistry that Green causes. Let him go.

Warriors have used four different starting lineups in the 8 games that Draymond has not participated at all. The most successful of the lineups -- by a wide margin -- is Chris Paul, Steph Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson and Kevon Looney. 125.5 offensive rating, 109.8 defensive rating.

Warriors are in a tough spot. They still have Curry  playing at historically great levels. But Thompson is a shell of what he was. Green is a liability, who they unfortunately just signed for several years. Some of the young players off the bench are nice players. But I don’t think they have a difference maker which in the NBA is crucial. 

It’s only a matter of time before they trade Chris Paul. Not sure what they’ll get. it depends if they package him with Kuminga, which has been suggested. 

I think it’s tough for Kerr  to go into “rebuild“ mode with what he’s got. But to an extent, I think that’s what they have to do. At best, this team is an eight through 10. And that very well may be a reach. 

I’ve said this before I’ll say it again, they remind me of the Giants circa 2017.  The 2022 championship was a lot like the Giants and 2014. The team actually had no business winning the title.  Now, they are an aging team with contract issues. With a franchise icon that is a free agent at the end of the year. Sound familiar?

I wonder about Thompson a little bit. He just scored 30 against a good Clippers team. Is it an outlier, or is he finally dialed in? We'll see over the next 20 games.

I wonder about Kerr.  Has he figured out the right starting/bench mix?

I wonder about Draymond.  Is he coming back? If so, when? Should he? Is the NBA signalling to the Warriors that Draymond has been PNG'd?

I wonder about Podziemski. He ranges from mediocre to exciting on offense. I have yet to see him play well on defense (and I know his defensive rating is the best on the team, go figure).

I wonder about Wiggins. What's going on inside his head?

I wonder (and worry) about Kuminga. How long will he put up with meager playing time?

Lots of question marks. Some answers within the next 20 games, I suspect.
