I like Elliott. He's an old school guy. I believe he was sure the Nebraska team was out of rotation or he wouldn't have been so adamant about it. His mistake was using the F word on national TV where the viewers could visually make out what he said.
This match reaffirms to me the importance of really tough serving. It's a weapon that can overcome the superior overall skills of an opponent. Hambly has been right all along about serving tough. The one caveat IMO is Stanford has decent servers; not really good, consistent servers.
I'm sure someone will respond to my comment about servers that Stanford won a bunch of matches, won a conference championship, and was a #1 regional seed. That's all true. I'm just looking at how can Stanford get better in the future. Maybe even search out and recruit a lights-out server as a serving sub?
