I don’t think he will play this season if this statement from the press release is accurate- “will join the Cardinal program for the 2025 season.”

I have no inside knowledge. Maybe it’s a typo for 2024 or maybe he is “farmed” until June and picks up with summer ball in preparation for the 2024-2025 season. Japanese schools are essentially done for the year by the end of February so it would be easy for him to be enrolled from this Spring Quarter, which seems to be what the release is saying (again, if it’s accurate!).

I read the press release as he will enroll for spring 2024 but not play until spring 2025. Not sure why they don't have him play this year if he's eligible as I would imagine he goes to the MLB draft as soon as eligible.
