Barnes says good bye to the Bay Area and hopes to never return

Haha interesting. Adia did tweet the terrible hotel was in Berkley. She also said after Friday's game that she wants to continue the series with Stanford in the future. Thus far, I believe Barnes, Cori Close, Graves, and maybe Kami Ethridge have all on the record said they hope to continue a home and home with Stanford in the nonconference after this season. Now everyone wants to play us!

Scheduling is going to be fascinating next year. 

If we do try to maintain a lot of contact with our former Pac 12 schools that could take up much of the preseason.  Both the lower tiered competition--teams like Hawaii, Cal Poly, San Diego State, and Davis, and the higher tiered competition--teams like Indiana, South Carolina, and Texas, may have to make way for former Pac 12 opponents.  Doing a few home-and-aways with former Pac 12 schools during the preseason could make our overall schedule much more difficult if the lower tier is replaced, and perhaps easier if the upper tier gets replaced.  Which will it be?

Then we may have to get used to playing basketball on different nights. The ACC women play Thursday-Sunday, not Friday-Sunday.  At least this year.  That will make the long road trips that much longer and eat further into classroom time.  It might be advantageous for Tara's style of coaching to have more time between games, though, given the large emphasis on the scouting report.

The person with the biggest challenge for next year will be Eileen Roche, Director of Basketball Operations.  Not only putting the schedule together, but finding the right hotels, travel arrangements, food etc. in all new cities, most for the first time.  Can't just go back to our favorite LA accommodations for the 36th time in a row.  It would be a shock if all of that went completely smoothly in the first year.  So many moving pieces.
