Tonight will be the last game at Maples for Cameron Brink and Hannah Jump. I hope they remember how terrible they felt last year when they lost in the round of 32 at Maples. They should rally the team to play with maximum intensity and intelligence to defeat Iowa State and advance to the Sweet 16. I don't want their last game at Maples to be a loss.
I have really enjoyed watching Cam and Hannah play for Stanford. These two players represent the best examples of skill, dedication, sportsmanship, teamwork, selflessness, and humility. Their leadership have allowed this team to overachieve this season and win the regular season in the most competitive Pac-12 season ever.
I don't think this team can beat South Carolina, Notre Dame, Iowa, USC, or Ohio State. I think we have a puncher's chance of making it out of this region, which would be a phenomenal achievement for this group of young women. However, regardless of how deep they go in the Big Dance, I have nothing but admiration for this team.
