Cam is an incredibly competitive player. That has driven her to a level of greatness in her Stanford career. But last night she seemed to me to be a little over-amped at times. Maybe a combination of final game at Maples + memories of 2nd round loss last year + very physical game vs. ISU + frustration at not getting shots to fall. I love the way she plays. When she is at her best, she affects all aspects of the game. She is 2nd on the team in assists and leads the team in steals in addition to her scoring, rebounding and blocks. We need the Cameron Brink on the court who can do all those things but it sure is asking a lot.

I am also concerned about her FT shooting. She has only made 16 of her last 33 FT attempts. Something has definitely changed, likely both mechanically and mentally. She is wearing a sleeve with an elbow pad on her right arm. I wonder if she has (or had) an injury that affected her form.

About six months ag I had cataract surgery, replacing lenses in both my eyes. I opted for a toric lens. Now my vision is 20-20 butI need reading glasses. My guess is that Cam had a similar procedure. My take:

The 20-20 vision is great, but uneven. When I blink my vision blurs for a few seconds. Sometimes it blurs for reasons I’ve been unable to discern. If Cam is having similar issues, that would explain a lot.

As noted in so many posts above, Kiki had a monster game -- 41 pts, 16 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, 3 blocks, playing 41 of 45 minutes. After all the press enthusiasm on Friday night/Saturday over Crooks' 40 points vs Maryland, I wonder what we're going to read about Kiki tomorrow. It better be at least equal to what was written about Crooks.

In all seriousness, that's a fair headline and a nice write up. Brutal to be on the other end of this.  Ryan was amazing. Stanford could not keep up with her.  I know this board has a history of calling out one-sided "maul ball", but watching the action I'm surprised Brink didn't foul out much earlier. It's not just verticality.  The hand is part of the ball, but arms, heads, shoulders, and necks aren't. The women's game is officiated differently than the men's, and to be transparent I watch much more of the men than the women. On the men's side yesterday, there was a lot of 'let them play' going on. Grand Canyon v. Bama was a literal slug fest.

Dumb question on both sides of basketball (men and women):  what is up with the wearing of one leg sleeve?  I assume they are for compression rather than a Michael Jackson tribute.  I see (mostly men) in two sleeves sometimes, but both men and women in a single sleeve a lot.
