Well, I thought Kate spoke eloquently about her background and continuity and the Stanford sisterhood.  No question she is a bright and committed, passionate head coach.  

There were no surprises, however, and the press asked few substantive questions.  Iriafen was conspicuously not mentioned as a returning senior, so I guess that ship has truly sailed.  She seemed enthused about using the transfer portal in select situations, but stated the obvious that Stanford cannot build entire teams using that method.  She mentioned that Tara first contemplated retiring in 2011, which is a few years earlier than I thought.

The Daily reporter asked about new rules announced by the NCAAA today.  No one else in the room seemed to know much about them.  Eager to hear more.

You probably won't be happy. More about NIL and transfer portal. In summary:
- Schools can now identify and facilitiate NIL deals directly with 3rd parties (NOTE: This is an area where Stanford could dominate it's competition if it wanted to, but that would probably be to the chagrin of many CardBoarders :)  
- Unlimited transfers without sitting
