Stanford at UC Santa Barbara today at 7:00pm PT on ESPN+.   UCSB's 2-4 record is deceptive.  Three of the four losses were against ranked team.  Also they beat USF.   It should be a competitive match.

Hambly has plenty of non-conference scheduling options.  There is always a reason he schedules teams.  I have no idea why he chose UCSB.   Anyone know?

Speculation - looking for a competitive match on the way to Malibu where Stanford plays defending WCC champ Pepperdine tomorrow. Also UCSB won the Big West last year.

A road trip to SoCal gives the families of SoCal players a chance to watch their daughters play without a 6-8 hour drive. Can't count on road matches at USC and UCLA any more.

You could very well be correct.  I remember Dunning took the team to UC Santa Barbara the senior year of Carly Wopat so family and friends could watch her.

I'm guessing Hambly and team will travel tomorrow morning to Malibu which is about a 90 minute drive and then play at 6:00 pm.
