Stanford vs Pepperdine today at 6:00pm PT on ESPN+. Pepperdine is another team with a deceptive record of 1-3. The four matches were against good teams. They have 11 players on the roster 6'0" or taller so they have the height to battle Stanford at the net. The Cardinal better be on top of its game. Hoping for a report from Spiny if he attends the match.
Random thoughts on the UCSB match:
I thought the female announcer should have been more knowledgeable in calling the game with her volleyball background. However both announcers were very complimentary about Stanford. They were even complimenting Stanford when we weren't playing well. So I liked them.
Most of the time when Kirsch was in the game she was hidden from serve receive. Unusual for a backrow sub to be in a position so she can't receive serve. Not sure of the strategy for that.
