It surprised me that the announcer admitted she hadn't studied Stanford enough before last night and didn't know Tim Duncan was the father of a Stanford player (F Sidney Duncan), even when she saw him at the hotel.  That is on Sidney Duncan's bio on the roster.

Reviewing the video (should be posted by end of day today), the announcer did, in fact, mention Sidney.

Announcer: "You and I saw [Tim Duncan] at the hotel last night not realizing his daughter's a freshman on this club, 6'4" middle blocker, Sidney Duncan."   (when Stanford led 17-14 in the 2nd set)  As I said, they hadn't reviewed the team enough to know this as of the night before the match.


I felt the woman sitting next to Tim Duncan looked perhaps too young to have a 18-19yo daughter.  It turns out that appears to be Vanessa Macias, labelled as his girlfriend in a 2020 article.  Sidney's mother is Amy Sherrill.  They divorced in 2013.  Amy and Tim are parents of Sidney and Draven.  Vanessa and Tim are parents of Quill.

And I thought it must’ve been cosmetic surgery. Turned out to be a trophy wife. Thanks for the update.
