I don't know if this qualifies as a scandal, but a VTA bus driver killed a coworker last week over NFL and college football gambling debts. A lot remains to be decided in court, but gambling and its ramifications can be very corrosive and deadly. We can all walk away as fans, but it won't stop that. (My rationalization for watching tons of NFL and college football, I guess.)
