We are not over-achieving.  We have a 3 All American level performers - a 6 rotation OH, a setter and libero.  We also have an all-conference level MB.  How many teams have that?  The other pins and MB are first year players.  That means they will get noticeably better as the year continues.  If you asked me before the season, I would have predicted us to be a 2 or 3 seed.  I think that's where we are now, and we will get better.  Let's see if we can get to the point where we beat Louisville 3-0 for the last match of the regular season at Maples.  They are an experienced team that likely won't improve nearly as much as we will in the next two months.

I enjoy your commentary MSG.  We'll have to agree to disagree on this one.  Prior to the season I thought replacing three fifth year starters with three players who are essentially rookies would be a reason for lowered expectations.  While I've been pleasantly surprised thus far I still think a top four overall seed will be a challenge.

Stanford plays Pitt and some pretty good ACC teams on the road later this season.  I'm looking forward to how Stanford plays SMU in the big D on October 16.
