I didn’t expect a win today but was hoping for a more competitive game
The few good plays we had were washed away by mistakes & bad plays
The injury situation isn’t good and seems getting worse not better
With the vague hope that Brown returns soon, which seems a slim straw to grasp onto
Injuries to RB’s and DB’s especially concerning
While yes surely we still should have a good chance for a win vs Wake, my impression is with this situation nothing is assured
And yes another win or two is possible
Long ago, at end last season and seeing recruits and transfers coming in, I said a 2 win season this year would be a disaster.
And that is still on the table
And that a 3-win season, which now might be the most likely outcome, would be like barely treading water.
And you know you only can tread water for so long before you go under
A 4-win season, still possible, of course, but likely?
Even with achieving that, which might be an optimistic thought at this point, it would achieve the smallest possible step to be able to claim with any believability that the team is improving, is moving forward
I’m hoping for better days and I’ll still be a supportive fan but right now is pretty bleak.
Now, now. Let's not get too discouraged. There can be a tendency to overreact after a tough loss like this one.
Nah, I'm just kidding, we totally suck.
If I ever again feel compelled to keep watching a game in which we're down 6 touchdowns and our second-string QB needs three tries on the same series to hit wide-open receivers in the right flat who are just a few yards directly in front of him... please, do me a favor and slap me.
