Question: Why do we insist on putting ourselves behind the 8 ball by going for 4th and 5 near midfield throughout the first half in many games? The D is better than the O, especially with an injured OL.
Oh well, I await Brown.
The D gave up three TD runs of 15+ yards, and the secondary is now a shell of itself with Green and Manley both out, plus injuries in the Notre Dame to Aaron Morris and Mitch Leigber. (Did Leigber return? A Stanford Daily article says no, but I thought I saw him out there again.)
But to your point...
Stanford offense No. 129 (out of 134 ranked teams) in points per play, per TeamStats.
Stanford defense No. 120 in points per play allowed, same data source.
So, I guess you are correct, old spanish trail.
EDIT: Just because their name gets invoked a lot on this message board: Wake Forest is No. 87 in points per play and No. 110 in points per play allowed. Who, again, is going to be the favorite when Stanford plays Wake Forest?
