Nice summary WBB - I agree with all of your observations.
Some impressions of mine....
I was also a bit underwhelmed, by the transfers - Heal & Stevenson. But it's early and I sensed that both will become solid contributors as they get increasingly familiar with teammates and get settled in.
I hope Lepolo & Ijiwoye both get healthy soon. The offense was productive by taking advantage of a significant advantage in size. But it was lacking a consistent flow.
The defense was a disappointment - Cal St. shot well, but got way too many open looks.
There are no stand-outs on this team like we've gotten used to, but I think that the depth of potentially really good players is impressive. Kate talked in the press conference (link below) about playing "tag team" and using the depth. I think that their ability to do that effectively will be crucial to their success.
In connection with that, there are a lot of solid 3-point shooters. I think that they will be reliant on that both for the scoring off 3s and for opening up the middle without any truly dominant post players.
